Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Problem Resolution Specimen Technician to ensure accurate specimen processing and testing, with a Monday to Friday schedule 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and rotational weekends.

Responsibilities include primary contact for resolving specimen problems, data interpretation, and collaboration with processing and testing teams to prevent delays and maintain quality results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year in Specimen Tech III/related role (internal candidates).
• Preferred: 3 years lab experience, production environment; strong specimen processing background.

Responsibilities

• Primary point-of-contact for resolving specimen problems with internal departments.
• May call clients to obtain resolution of problems.
• Interprets specimen tracking data using LIS and related systems.
• Ensures compliance with test ordering, reporting, add-on tests, TNPs and panels.
• Enter TIQs/TNPs and process mislabeled specimens accurately.
• Escalates trends to department management as appropriate.
• Uses MS Office to manage workflow and reporting.
