Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Problem Resolution Specimen Technician. The role supports processing and testing laboratory specimens with proficiency in Specimen TechIII duties. Shift: Tuesday to Saturday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to interpret specimen tracking data and lab information systems.
• Experience with entering TIQs/TNPs and handling mislabeled specimens.
• Familiarity with SOPs related to Specimen Processing and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Primary point-of-contact for resolution of common specimen problems with internal departments.
• May call clients to obtain resolution of problems.
• Demonstrates competency of SOPs related to Specimen Processing problem resolution.
• Interprets specimen tracking data using logs, LIS, front-end automation, and instrumentation.
• Ensures compliance with test ordering, reporting, add-on tests, reflex tests, and custom panels.
• Retrieves specimens from storage and investigates sample adequacy and stability.
