Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. seeks a Compensation and Benefits Specialist II in Troy, MI to manage all aspects of the benefits programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, wellness and retirement plans.

You will work with vendors, oversee enrollment activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform data audits in the HRIS and with vendors.

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MS preferred; 3–6+ years HR experience; strong analytical and communication skills needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field required.
• MBA/MS preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–6+ years HR experience, including benefits/compensation and system administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day benefits administration support (health, wellness, and retirement).
• Ensure forms (Form 5500, 1095s) are prepared and filed timely with government entities.
• Benchmark positions using survey data to determine competitive compensation ranges and proposals for top management.
• Perform audits of benefits data (enrollments, vendor billing, payroll coding).
• Coordinate and present benefit meetings; participate in annual open enrollment activities.

Summary:

As a Compensation and Benefits Specialist II, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Benefits Programs, including medical and dental plans, life insurance, short/long-term disability, wellness, HSA’s, flexible spending account programs, 401k, open enrollment, workers compensation, and retirement plans. Additionally, you will working with vendors and HR/employees to problem solve issues, address concerns and ensure accurate and timely administration of the plans.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and accurate day-to-day administrative support to LGESMI benefits including health, wellness, and retirement programs
• Ensure that employee benefits-related paperwork (e.g., Form 5500, 1095s, etc.) is prepared and timely filed with governmental entities, as required
• Benchmark positions against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and prepares proposals for top management
• Perform quality audits of benefits-related data, including checking the accuracy of benefit enrollments in the HRIS and with the vendors, vendor billing accuracy, and payroll coding and deduction accuracy
• Prepare and setup benefit meetings to obtain information and explain company benefits and other related incentive programs
• Participate in annual benefits enrollment activities including planning, preparation and testing of online enrollment platform, as well as auditing for enrollment accuracy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field;MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience:

• 3 to 6 + years of hands-on HR work experience (including employee benefits/compensation and system administration)
• Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation and applicable laws
• Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements
