Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, seeks a Special Education Teacher for an elementary learning center as part of our Alternative Education team. You will lead instructional planning for students with IEPs, delivering differentiated instruction and using PBIS to foster an inclusive, engaging classroom aligned to state standards.

The ideal candidate holds an IL professional educator credential (PEL) or SSE/LBS1, with experience in curriculum development

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• IL PEL credential or in process.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential or in process.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• Experience in alternative/special education or behavioral health settings.
• IEP experience and understanding of SBEs/AU behavior supports.
• Proficiency in using educational software and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver differentiated and targeted instruction.
• Collaborate in co‑teaching settings.
• Develop and update IEP goals and interventions.
• Create detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Use PBIS strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress reports.
• Engage families and maintain professional growth.
