Job summary
ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs in an alternative education environment. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL SSE or LBS1 credential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
- Experience in curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in alternative/special education or behavioral health settings.
- Experience with IEPs, special education services, and compliance.
- Proficiency in motivating students and guiding goal-oriented outcomes.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think clearly and act calmly in emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead instructional process for Elementary students with IEPs.
- Deliver differentiated instruction within a learning center or classroom.
- Collaborate in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
- Adapt curricula to diverse student needs and provide differentiation guidance.
- Utilize instructional methods and educational software to engage learners.
- Maintain detailed lesson plans and organize instructional materials.
- Track student progress and generate reports detailing achievements.
