Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional educator to support instructional programs and supervise/safeguard special needs students across regular and special education settings. The role includes assisting in implementing IEP plans and attending IEP meetings.

The position requires a Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate or an equivalent credential, along with a high school diploma or GED and eligible coursework.

Qualifications

Paraprofessional Educator PSC certificate required.
HS Diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro requirement or PSC-approved alternative.
60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours PSC-approved college/university alternative.

Responsibilities

Adapt classroom activities and materials under teacher direction to reinforce IEP goals.
Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance per health professional instruction.
Assist with tests, homework, and makeup work to support teachers.
Help medically fragile or disabled students with personal care.
Assist students with disabilities with grooming, community access, and daily living tasks as assigned.
