Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator to support instructional programs and supervise students with special needs across classrooms and community settings. This role requires assisting in implementing IEP plans and monitoring student behavior to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers, data collection under supervision, and providing direct care and academic support to students with diverse learning

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia PSC.
• Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro assessment required (unless approved hours).
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from a PSC approved college/university can be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program in assigned classroom for special needs students.
• Adapt activities to support IEP goals and objectives.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as directed.
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile students with hygiene.
• Assist students with disabilities with grooming and daily needs.
• Confer with teachers on progress and IEP implementation.
• Collect data under supervision and support learning.
• Monitor students for a safe learning environment.
• Maintain records and classroom materials.
