Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional educator to support instructional programs and assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs across multiple settings. The role involves implementing IEP plans, data collection, and collaboration with teachers.

Candidates should hold a Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate or equivalent, along with a high school diploma or GED and the required Praxis/GACE assessments or PSC hours.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia PSC.
• HS Diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro.
• 60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college/university.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program within an assigned classroom.
• Assist supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students.
• Attend IEP meetings and monitor student behavior.
• Administer first aid and health-related support as needed.
• Assist with testing, homework, and make-up work.
• Provide assistance with daily living activities and mobility as required.
• Coordinate with teachers on evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Maintain records and assist with data collection and attendance.
• Assist with crisis intervention and emergency situations.
