Gwinnett County Public Schools Woodward Mill Elementary in Lawrenceville, GA seeks a Paraprofessional Educator to support students with IEP goals under the supervision of licensed teachers. The role includes assisting with classroom activities, behavior plans, data collection, and daily living tasks for students with disabilities.

The position requires a Paraprofessional certificate, appropriate Praxis/GACE assessments, and completion of PSC hours.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate required by Georgia PSC
• Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro must be passed (before dates if specified) or alternative hour requirements per PSC
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from a PSC approved college/university required in lieu of assessments

Responsabilités

• Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials under supervising teacher to reinforce IEP goals and enable participation
• Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers
• Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with personal care and daily living tasks
• Assist students with disabilities with grooming, community access, and other areas as assigned by the teacher
• Confer with teachers on evaluating student progress and implementing IEP objectives
• Implement and collect data under supervision of the teacher and IEP teams
• Monitor students for safety and positive learning environments
• Perform record keeping and support functions for teacher
• Provide instruction to individuals and small groups to reinforce instructional objectives
• Respond to emergencies and crisis situations with appropriate procedures
• Assist with monitoring duties (hallways, lunchroom, restrooms, bus duty)
• Perform other duties as assigned
