Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional Educator to support instructional programs across general and special education settings. You will assist in supervising and instructing students, implement IEP plans, and collaborate with teachers to reinforce learning objectives.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, assisting with health and safety, data collection, and facilitating a positive classroom environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and required Parapro assessments.
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college if assessments not used.
• Paraprofessional certificate issued by Georgia PSC is required.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under supervision to support IEP objectives.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as directed by a health professional.
• Administer tests and homework to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile students with personal hygiene needs.
• Assist students with disabilities with grooming and community accessibility.
• Confer with teachers on progress and IEP objectives.
• Implement and collect data under teacher supervision and IEP plans.
• Monitor students to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintain records, attendance, and daily logs to support instruction.
• Provide instruction in various activities to reinforce objectives.
• Respond to emergencies and apply crisis intervention procedures.
• Support monitoring duties and escort students as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
