Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia is hiring a Paraprofessional Educator for Special Education (PID Res/SC). The role supports IEP objectives, assists with classroom activities, supervision, and daily living tasks under the supervising teacher.

Qualifications include a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional certificate, a high school diploma or GED with Praxis/GACE Parapro assessments or 60 semester hours. Prior licensed child care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia PSC is required.
• HS diploma or GED with Praxis/GACE Parapro assessment or equivalent college hours.
• Experience in a licensed child care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials to support IEP objectives.
• Administer first aid and basic medical assistance as directed.
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile students with daily needs and personal hygiene.
• Assist students with disabilities in grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess progress and implement IEP goals.
• Collect data under supervision for learning reinforcement.
• Monitor students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Maintain records and processes such as attendance and records.
• Provide instruction in small groups to reinforce instructional objectives.
