Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and behavioral challenges. You will work with teachers to help implement goals, provide direct support, and promote independence in daily activities.

You will collect progress data and assist with transitions, classroom routines, and personal care as required, while maintaining a safe, structured learning environment for students aged 5–21.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three+ months experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
