Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students aged 5-21 who have autism and behavioral challenges. You will support teachers in achieving academic, behavioral, and daily living goals through direct support, patience, and encouragement.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEPs under guidance, helping with transitions and personal care, and collecting progress data. The role offers a meaningful path in a structured, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities is required (minimum 3 months).
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students' academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Support transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
