Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5–21 with autism and other challenges. You will work alongside teachers to assist with academics, behavior, and daily living goals in a structured classroom.

Direct support, patience, and encouragement help students succeed and grow to meaningful adult lives. Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, assisting with transitions and self-care, and collecting progress data under guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
