Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5–21 with autism and related challenges. You will work with teachers to implement IEPs and PBSPs, assist with academics, behavior goals, and daily living skills, and help maintain a calm, structured classroom environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are at least 21, and can stay composed in challenging situations. We offer a range of benefits and paid time off options to eligible roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
