Job summary

New Story Schools seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5–21 with autism and developmental challenges. You will collaborate with teachers to meet academic, behavioral, and daily living goals through direct support, patience, and encouragement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 3 months supporting individuals with learning/behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under guidance.
• Help students with transitions, activities, and personal care.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
