Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5–21 with autism and developmental challenges. You will work with teachers to assist with academics, behavior, and daily living goals, under guidance to implement IEPs and ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 21 years old.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies desired.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills expected.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Help students with transitions, activities, and personal care.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment for all students.
