Wayzata Public Schools ISD 284 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional (SDC) to assist licensed staff with academic adaptations, self-care and social/behavioral support for students in various settings, including general and special education classrooms or community programs.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and Highly Qualified Status, with a preference for 2 years of post-secondary training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Highly Qualified Status Required; Preference for 2 year post-secondary training.
• Ability to lift, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Willing to assist in the eating and toileting needs of students.
• Must maintain data privacy and confidentiality for all students.
• Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education Licensed Staff with academic adaptations and self-care needs for students in special education.
• Support students in general education, SPED, or community settings.
• Support students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Use positive behavior support strategies and trauma-informed practices.
