Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools is seeking a dedicated assistant to support Special Education licensed staff with academic adaptations and student self-care needs. The role may work in general education, special education, or community settings while maintaining data privacy for all students.

The position is part-time (26.25 hours/week) with a starting rate of $24.83 per hour; health benefits are not included. The cohort requires flexibility and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required. Highly Qualified Status required. Preference for 2 year post-secondary training.
• Must be flexible and willing to work in a variety of settings with a variety of students and staff.
• May need to lift, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be willing to assist in the eating and toileting needs of students.
• Must maintain data privacy and confidentiality for all students.
• Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education Licensed Staff with academic adaptations, self-care and social/behavioral needs for students in special education.
• This support may be provided in the general education classroom, special education classroom or community settings.
