Wayzata Public Schools seeks an paraeducator to assist Special Education Licensed Staff with academic adaptations, self-care and social/behavioral needs for students in various settings. The role emphasizes students with emotional/behavioral challenges and trauma-informed approaches to foster growth.

Ideal candidates will bring experience with behavior support and a dedication to privacy; starting pay is $24.83/hour, with 6.75 hours at WHS SDC for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Highly Qualified Status required.
• Preference for 2-year post-secondary training.
• Must be flexible to work with varied settings and students.
• May lift/move up to 50 pounds; assist in eating and toileting needs.
• Maintain data privacy and confidentiality; basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education staff with academic adaptations and student needs.
• Support in general education, special education classrooms, or community settings.
• Apply positive behavior support and trauma-informed practices where appropriate.
