Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs, starting the 2026-27 school year.

Hours: 6.75 hrs/day, Monday through Friday. Pay: Starting at $24.83/hour. Location: Wayzata High School.

Responsibilities include implementing tasks per IEPs, supervising students, documenting progress, and assisting with mobility and daily living skills in a confidential setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; must meet Minnesota paraprofessional competency requirements.
• Non-violent CPI training may be required.
• Experience with emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable across varied settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement tasks with students per IEPs under teacher direction.
• Supervise students and assist with academic, social, and motor activities.
• Observe, document, and communicate student data to teachers and supervisors.
• Assist with mobility and self-care tasks (feeding, dressing, toileting).
• Monitor halls and accompany students to specialists.
• Maintain confidentiality and enforce school rules.
