Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students aged 5–21 who have autism and developmental challenges. You will support teachers with academic and behavioral goals and provide direct encouragement to help each student succeed.

You will implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, assist with transitions and personal care, collect progress data, and help maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
