Job summary

New Story Schools (PA) is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students ages 5–21 with autism and other developmental challenges. You will assist teachers with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, providing direct support, patience, and encouragement.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and behavior support plans, aiding with transitions and personal care, and collecting progress data to help maintain a safe and structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
