Job summary

New Story Schools in PA seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and related challenges. You will work with teachers to implement academic and behavioral goals, assist with daily living skills, and help create a calm, structured classroom.

You’ll collect progress data, support transitions, and reinforce IEPs under guidance, while fostering patience, teamwork, and a positive learning environment for students aged 5–21.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
