Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and behavioral challenges. You will work alongside teachers to assist with academics, behavior, and daily living goals in a structured learning environment.

You'll implement supports under guidance, help with transitions, collect progress data, and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom where every student can grow and thrive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum three months experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
