Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students ages 5–21 who have autism and behavioral challenges. You will support teachers with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals.

Under guidance, you’ll implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, assist with transitions and personal care, and help collect progress data in a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
