Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to collaboratively support students with autism and developmental challenges. You will work with teachers to help students succeed through direct support and patience.

You will assist with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, help implement IEPs under teacher guidance, and contribute to a safe, structured learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
