Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with teachers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, providing direct support and encouragement in a structured setting.

You will help implement IEPs, assist with transitions and personal care, and collect progress data to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for students with autism and related challenges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
