Job summary

TrulyHired is recruiting for Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia to support instructional programs as a paraprofessional educator. This role focuses on assisting in classrooms for general and special education, implementing IEP plans and maintaining daily student routines.

Requires PSC paraprofessional certification and education options per Georgia standards. Preference given to candidates with licensed child care experience and strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) required
• Praxis Parapro Assessment or GACE Parapro Assessment required (prior to March 1, 2007) or 60 semester/90 quarter hours PSC approved college option
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and reinforce IEP objectives under supervising teacher
• Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as directed
• Assist with tests, homework and make-up work for teachers
• Support medically fragile or physically disabled students with daily needs
• Assist students with disabilities with grooming, community accessibility, and other activities
• Confer with teachers on evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives
• Implement and collect data under supervision of teacher and behavioral plans
• Monitor students in various settings to ensure a safe, positive learning environment
• Maintain records and support functions like data collection and attendance
• Provide instruction in small and large groups to reinforce instructional objectives
