Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional educator to support instructional programs and assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs in regular and special education settings.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and must have or be eligible for the Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate, plus knowledge of child development and basic Office software; prior experience in licensed child care is preferred.

Qualificações

• H.S. diploma or GED required with assessment results or college hours.
• Paraprofessional educator certificate or PSC-required equivalent.
• Knowledge of child development and basic Office software.

Responsabilidades

• Adapt classroom activities and reinforce IEP objectives under supervision.
• Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as directed.
• Administer tests, homework, and makeup work to support instruction.
• Assist medically fragile students with daily living tasks and hygiene.
• Support students with disabilities in grooming, mobility, and community access.
• Confer with teachers on evaluating progress and implementing IEPs.
• Implement data collection and behavioral plans for learning reinforcement.
• Monitor students in various settings to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Perform record keeping and prepare materials for instruction.
• Provide instruction in small/large groups across subjects as directed.
• Respond to emergencies and apply crisis intervention procedures.
• Assist with hallways, lunchrooms, restroom duties, and supervision as needed.

Formação académica

HS Diploma or GED

Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro

PSC-approved college hours (60 sem/90 qtr)
