Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and required Parapro assessments
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college if assessments not taken
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred
• Knowledge of child development and Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools

Responsibilities

• Provide support to instructional program in assigned classroom
• Assist in supervision, care and instruction of special needs students
• Implement plans for instruction and monitor behavior
• Attend IEP meetings and communicate with school personnel
• Adapt activities to reinforce IEP objectives
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as needed
• Record keeping and data collection to support teachers
• Instruction in a variety of activities to reinforce objectives
• Respond to emergencies and crises when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned
