Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a paraprofessional educator to support Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia. The role involves assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students, including those with special needs, across classroom and non-classroom settings.

Candidates must hold a Paraprofessional Educator certificate from the Georgia PSC and a high school diploma or GED with Praxis/GACE Parapro or PSC-approved college hours.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia PSC is required.
• High School Diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro; or PSC-approved college hours.
• Experience in licensed child care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program in assigned classroom, assisting in supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students.
• Adapt activities to reinforce IEP goals and ensure participation of all students.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as directed by health care professionals.
• Assist with tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Help medically fragile students with personal hygiene and daily needs.
• Confer with teachers to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Monitor students in various settings to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Record data, manage files, attendance, and daily logs for teacher support.
• Provide instruction to groups/individuals in math, reading, and behavioral skills.
• Respond to emergencies and support crisis intervention procedures.
