Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional Educator to support instructional programs for students with special needs in regular and special education settings.

You will assist with supervision, implement IEP plans, and help adapt activities to meet individual student goals while coordinating with teachers and school staff. Strong communication and compassion are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and basic office software.
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred.
• Ability to interact effectively with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional programs in assigned classrooms for special needs students.
• Assist in supervision, care, and instruction per IEP goals.
• Adapt activities and materials to reinforce IEP objectives.
• Administer first aid and basic medical assistance as directed.
• Assist with tests, homework, and makeup work.
• Support students with daily living needs and grooming.
• Collaborate with teachers on progress and IEP implementation.
• Monitor safety in various school areas and during activities.
• Maintain records and assist with data collection and attendance.
• Provide instructional aid in small and large group activities.
• Respond to emergencies and apply crisis intervention procedures.

HS Diploma or GED + Praxis/GACE Parapro

60 sem/90 quarter hours PSC approved college
