Job summary

SchoolHouse Staffing is seeking an organized Special Education Case Manager (LBS1) in Chicago, IL to lead the school’s IDEA compliance for a K–8 partner. This in-person, full-time role involves managing a caseload of about 95 students with IEPs and Section 504 plans, coordinating meetings, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation.

You will serve as the central liaison among teachers, families, and administrators, ensuring services are delivered as written and audits are prepared.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) is required.
• LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) endorsement is required.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Illinois compliance timelines.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Own IDEA compliance timelines (evaluations, re-evaluations, annual reviews, eligibility determinations).
• Manage caseload of ~95 students with IEPs and 504 plans across K–8.
• Coordinate IEP/504 meetings with proper notice and documentation.
• Maintain audit-ready records in IEP/student information systems.
• Serve as primary contact for families, staff, and providers on IEP/504 matters.
• Support eligibility determinations and district/state reporting.
