Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Case Manager to coordinate special education services under IDEA and Section 504. You will represent the district at required meetings, manage timelines and notices, and ensure communications with families are provided in the native language where feasible.

You will chair IEP and 504 conferences, arrange related services, monitor data, and finalize each student’s plan in the student information system, while upholding CPS policies and federal/state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or Master’s in educational administration.
• PEL license in Special Education (PK-Age 21) endorsement or School Support Personnel supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Expertise in special education curriculum and service provision.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the local school district representative at IDEA and 504 meetings.
• Chairing IEP and 504 conferences and acting as District Representative.
• Ensuring timelines and parental notices are processed in the native language where feasible.
• Coordinating referrals for Full and Individual Evaluations (FIE) and related services.
• Finalizing IEPs/504 plans and uploading data in the district system.
• Training and supporting staff regarding IDEA and Section 504 requirements.
