Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a dedicated Case Manager to oversee IDEA/504 compliance, chair IEP and 504 conferences, and coordinate services for students with disabilities. This role ensures procedures are followed, data is used to guide decisions, and timely communications with families and schools are maintained.

Responsibilities include coordinating evaluations, ensuring timelines, and collaborating with the ODLSS and school staff to implement IEPs and 504 Plans with fidelity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a Master’s in educational administration.
• Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or School Support Personnel endorsement with supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at all required meetings under the IDEA and as the 504 Coordinator.
• Coordinate all referrals for a Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) and ensure timelines are met.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as the District Representative.
• Ensure that IEP/504 teams use data to guide service decisions and finalize plans in SSM.
• Arrange special education services per IEP and coordinate with ODLSS as needed.
• Train and support school staff on IDEA and Section 504 requirements.
