Job summary

The Chicago Public Schools are seeking a Case Manager to support students with disabilities through the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services. The role focuses on coordinating IEP and 504 processes, ensuring timelines, and communicating with families in feasible languages.

The Case Manager will chair conferences, arrange services, and maintain data integrity in district systems while training staff on compliance requirements and collaborating with ODLSS and CPS teams.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a Master’s degree in educational administration.
• A valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement

Responsibilities

• Serve as local school district representative at required meetings under IDEA and as 504 Coordinator for Section 504 meetings.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and ensure deadlines and timelines are met.
• Coordinate referrals for Full and Individual Evaluations (FIE) and related assessments.
• Prepare and share evaluation materials with parents in the native language where feasible.
• Arrange and oversee related services according to IEP/504 and schedule paraprofessionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate data entry in the Student Services Management (SSM) system.
• Provide training and support to staff on IDEA and Section 504 requirements.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with school staff and external agencies.
