Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator in Suwanee, GA to support special education students and implement IEP goals under teacher supervision.

The role requires a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional certificate or equivalent and a high school diploma or GED with approved assessments or college hours. The candidate will assist in daily activities, monitor safety, and maintain records within a collaborative school setting.

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate required

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities to reinforce IEP goals
• Administer immediate first aid and health care as instructed
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work
• Assist students with disabilities with daily needs
• Confer with teachers to evaluate student progress and implement IEPs
• Implement data collection under supervision of the teacher and IEP
• Monitor students for safe learning
• Maintain records and support materials for teachers
• Provide instruction in group and individual activities to reinforce objectives
• Respond to emergencies and apply crisis de-escalation procedures
• Assist with monitoring duties (hallways/lunchroom/bus)
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Escort students to activity areas when needed

Education

High School diploma or GED

Praxis Parapro Assessment or GACE Parapro Assessment
