Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in licensed child care preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and MS Office; good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the instructional program in assigned classrooms for special needs students.
• Adapt activities to reinforce IEP goals and objectives.
• Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as directed.
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist with daily living skills and grooming for students.
• Confer with teachers on progress and IEP implementation.
• Monitor students to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Perform data collection and record-keeping to support teachers.
• Provide instruction in group and individual activities to reinforce objectives.
• Respond to emergencies and use crisis intervention procedures as needed.
• Assist with hallways, lunchroom, and bus duty for behavior management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
