Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide II to deliver personalized support to high school students in a dynamic, student‑centered environment. You will collaborate with teachers to implement individualized strategies, ensure safety and confidentiality, and participate in data collection and program planning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, California credential readiness, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a closely related field.
• Ability to obtain a CA Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit within 90 days of starting employment.
• Valid CA state driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Willingness and ability to drive a company van and transport students within the community.
• Minimum 3 years’ prior instructional or supportive experience with children; preferably in special education or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, autism or related disabilities.
• Knowledge of lesson planning, classroom management and personalized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support and guidance to high school students in collaboration with teachers.
• Implement individualized strategies aligned with IEP/ITP/PBIP.
• Maintain classroom schedules and coordinate with staff for transitions.
• Document student behaviors accurately and share observations while maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to Functional Behavioral Assessments and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Provide hands‑on vocational training and job coaching on campus and in community settings.
• Support students’ physical care needs and maintain safety and proper supervision.
• Assist with classroom operations and substitute teaching when required.
• Act as primary instructor in the teacher’s absence and communicate with families.
