Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide II to support K-12 students in a dynamic special education setting. You will implement individualized strategies, collaborate with teachers, and help students achieve academic and behavioral goals.

You will participate in data collection, planning, and documentation, with opportunities for hands-on vocational training, on-site and community activities, and caregiver communication. A compassionate team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• CA Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit within 90 days of starting employment.
• CA state driver’s license required or able to obtain.
• Minimum 3 years' experience providing instruction, guidance, or support to children; preferably in special education/behavioral health.
• Experience with IEP/ITP/PBIP, lesson planning, and classroom management preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized curriculum and use IEP/ITP/PBIP-aligned strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student progress.
• Align classroom activities with academic, community, and vocational goals.
• Document student behaviors accurately while protecting confidentiality.
• Assist in data collection and contribute to FBAs and PBIPs.
• Provide on-site and community-based job coaching and vocational training.
• Assist with transportation of students and supervise safety on Spectrum vehicles.
• Support orientation and training for new staff and substitute teachers.
