Job summary

Elara Caring in Bloomington, IN seeks a Special Care Aide (SCA) to support new client admissions and provide personal care at clients' homes. The role offers flexibility and travel opportunities, with a starting pay of $17.50 per hour and paths for career growth within the company.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of caregiving experience, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• CPR and First Aid certification required before first client contact.
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, CNA or similar certification as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities.
• Perform light housekeeping and household support.
• Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Travel throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
• Maintain accurate visit documentation and records.
