Job summary

Elara Caring is hiring a Special Care Aide (SCA) in Bloomington, IN for PRN, flexible schedule. You will be the first face for new clients, support Start of Care visits, provide personal care, meals, and daily living activities while traveling across the service area.

This role offers paid mileage, travel time, career growth pathways, education opportunities, and a collaborative team environment. A high school diploma, 6 months caregiving experience, CPR/First Aid, and state-required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations.
• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled.
• CPR and First Aid certification required prior to first client contact.
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, CNA or similar certification where required.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities.
• Performing light housekeeping and household support.
• Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and visit records.
• Providing coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.
• Traveling throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
• Promoting Elara Caring’s mission and commitment to quality care.
