Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) in Adrian, MI for a PRN, flexible schedule role. You will be the first point of contact for new clients, helping ensure a positive start of care and clear communication with the branch team.

You’ll provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, and support multiple clients across the service area. Travel opportunities and career growth are emphasized as part of a rewarding path with Elara Caring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
• Minimum six (6) months experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required.
• Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices, apps, and electronic documentation systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Provide personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities.
• Perform housekeeping and household support.
• Assist with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition.
• Maintain documentation and visit records.
• Provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.
• Travel throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
• Promote Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care.
