Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) in Kirksville, MO. This PRN role offers flexibility, travel between clients, and a path to leadership within Personal Care Services.

You will support admissions, provide personal care, meals, and daily living activities, while collaborating with branch leadership to ensure high‑quality care. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 6+ months of caregiving experience, relevant certifications, and comfort with mobile tech.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED per state regulations.
• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• Certification: HHA/Personal Care Aide/CNA as required.
• Comfort with mobile devices and electronic documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within service area; reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits
• Providing personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene
• Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities
• Housekeeping and household support
• Assisting with errands and transportation
• Monitoring changes in client condition
• Maintaining documentation and visit records
• Providing coverage for open shifts and urgent staffing needs
• Traveling throughout the assigned service area
