Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing/Manufacturing Engineer to provide direction on the integration of components for New Glenn. You will develop work instructions, manage quality and build sequences, and review drawings for manufacturability.

The role requires 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, solid GD&T knowledge, and proficiency in Creo Pro/E and CATIA. You will collaborate across globally distributed teams and contribute to safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • BS or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and CATIA preferred).
  • Ability to manage a manufacturing MBOM, author work instructions, and disposition non-conforming material.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams across large geographic distances.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience developing processes to industry quality systems such as AS9100.

Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing work instructions defining processes for fabrication, inspection, trimming, assembly, and integration.
  • Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware through manufacturing.
  • Review engineering drawings and provide final approval for manufacturing.
  • Design simple tooling and create statements of work for complex tooling.
  • Define and support repair and rework activities.
  • Perform root cause analyses for non-conformances and deploy corrective actions.
  • Craft material handling and packaging specs to protect hardware.
  • Manage hardware configuration and pedigree.
  • Prioritize hardware procurement and fabrication and communicate priorities to the team.
  • Maintain extreme customer focus with strong verbal and written communication.
