Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the integration of components for New Glenn. You will drive manufacturability improvements and manage manufacturing processes from fabrication to assembly.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, solid GD&T knowledge, MBOM management, and strong cross-functional communication across geographically dispersed teams. Join us to advance spaceflight safely and cost-effectively.

Qualifications

7+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical design fundamentals.
Experience managing a manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and work instructions.
Ability to collaborate with teams across large geographic distances.
Proficiency with CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Develop manufacturing work instructions for composites fabrication, inspection, trimming, and assembly.
Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware.
Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
Define and support repair and rework activities.
Perform root cause analyses and deploy corrective actions.
Craft material handling and packaging to protect hardware.
Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree.
Prioritize hardware procurement and fabrication and communicate priorities.
Extreme customer focus with strong verbal and written communication.
