Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide direction on the integration of components for New Glenn. The role emphasizes design for manufacturability, tooling development, and solving complex production challenges.

You will lead the creation of work instructions, manage quality and schedules, review drawings, and ensure traceability of hardware across the build lifecycle. A strong, collaborative mindset and dedication to safety are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and CATIA preferred).
  • Experience managing MBOM, authoring work instructions, and dispositioning non-conforming material.
  • Collaborative work style across large geographic distances; strong written and verbal skills.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and related processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing work instructions for fabrication, inspection, assembly, and integration.
  • Oversee quality, build sequence, and scheduling of hardware through manufacturing.
  • Review engineering drawings and approve manufacturing methods.
  • Design simple tooling and craft statements of work for complex tooling.
  • Define repair and rework activities and support root cause analyses.
  • Create material handling and packaging instructions to protect hardware.
  • Manage hardware configuration and MBOM, communicating priorities to teams.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.
