Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to join the Space Structures Complex in Middle River, MD. You will develop, implement, and improve manufacturing technologies for Neutron launch vehicle structures, plan build and integration, and drive tool design and process enhancements.

Requires a BS in engineering and 2+ years in space hardware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop work instructions, and support day-to-day vehicle integration across subsystems.

Qualifications

• 3D CAD modeling and drawing production.
• Ability to work with large assemblies and prints.
• Strong experience with hardware for space launch vehicles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute build and integration of Neutron and flight hardware.
• develop ground support tooling and processes for handling components and large assemblies.
• Develop build methods to increase throughput and reduce errors.
• Support integration engineers in day-to-day vehicle integration, fluid system, avionics, and AFTS.
• Develop and refine inspection, repair/retrofit, assembly and test procedures.
• Create clear work instructions to communicate between engineering and technicians.
• Maintain build procedures and document non-conformances for improvements.
• Maintain integrated planning documents for Launch Vehicle configurations.
