Job summary

Rocket Lab in Middle River, MD seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I or II to drive development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for the Neutron launch vehicle structure.

You will plan builds, develop tools and ground support, write clear work instructions, and collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure quality and throughput.

Base pay in MD is $120,000–$187,850, with a broad benefits package including equity, medical, vacation, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• B.S. in industrial, mechanical, or aerospace engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience building and testing hardware for space launch vehicles or similar aerospace hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to model with 3D CAD, produce prints, and work with large assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the build and integration of Neutron and associated flight hardware.
• Develop con-ops, design, and drive build of ground support tooling and processes for components and assemblies.
• Develop build methods to increase throughput and reduce errors; simplify processes.
• Support Neutron integration engineers in day‑to‑day vehicle integration activities and testing procedures.
• Create clear work instructions to ensure communication between engineering and technicians.
• Document non-conformances and drive actionable improvements.
• Maintain planning documents for Launch Vehicle configurations and scope.
• Design and develop tools and facilities to enable processing and testing.
• Collaborate closely with management and technical peers.
